Want to make theatre? Excited about international arts practice? Discover more about Lebanese theatre.
Join us for an interactive theatre-making workshop led by one of the most significant and influential Beirut-based contemporary artists, Hanane Hajj Ali.
Hanane works as a performer, writer and activist. She developed her theatre practice during the Lebanese civil war. ‘We were often confined to spend many nights and days in shelters. Driven by the instinct to survive, some friends and I used improvisational forms of arts to transform this sad confinement into a jovial celebration of solidarity and resilience – there I experienced the power of arts.’
This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of the most exciting artists working right now. Join us to learn more about Hanane’s work, share your own and develop your understanding of Lebanese arts practice. This is an interactive workshop for actors, writers, dramaturgs and directors and those who want to learn more international arts practice.
