Bringing people together from across the world to engage with theatre, performance and ideas
What we do About usBringing people together from across the world to engage with theatre, performance and ideas
What we do About usOur Artistic Lead Atri Banerjee directs the European premiere of David Finnigan’s Scenes from the Climate Era. Four performers take us through a dizzying series of vignettes, packed with humour and heart, all tackling the biggest story of our time.
An unflinchingly raw, funny and honest look at how the conversations around the climate crisis shape our everyday lives, our communities and the biological world around us.
Gateways is a series of talks, commissions, and curated events that invite audiences to engage more deeply with our work – exploring our productions, the artists behind them, and the wider contexts in which they are made. In parallel with Scenes from the Climate Era, this season’s Gateways programme responds to the play’s urgent themes, offering audiences opportunities to learn more about climate action while amplifying the voices of emerging artists addressing the climate crisis.
The Gate is delighted to be partnering with Woven Voices to present the Woven Voices Prize for Playwriting. This prestigious award creates a vital pathway for migrant artists in the UK to have their work read, shared and developed, bringing their stories to life.
What happens after the play is the point of the play.
Gateways is a series of workshops, talks, commissions, artist opportunities and curated events that offer our artists & audiences opportunities to learn more about our work, how our productions relate to the wider world, and develop their own practice and perspective.
