Tanika Gupta

Tanika Gupta studied at Oxford University. Her work in theatre includes A Tupperware of Ashes and Sanctuary ( also on tour), The Good Woman of Setzuan and The Waiting Room (John Whiting Award) all at the National Theatre; The Empress for the RSC and the Lyric Hammersmith; Great Expectations at Watford Palace, Royal Exchange, Manchester and for ETT; and Lions and Tigers (James Tait Black Memorial Prize). TV includes The Bill, Crossroads, All About Me, EastEnders, Grange Hill, London Bridge and Flight (EMMA Award). Radio includes A Passage to India, Letters from a Young Indian Revolutionary, A Doll’s House and Bindi Business. In 2008, Tanika Gupta was awarded an MBE for her services to drama and honorary doctorates from Chichester and University of West London. She was writer-in-residence at the National Theatre and at Soho Theatre.
