Rita is a long-time Notting Hill resident. She has been associated with the Gate since 2008 as a founding member of the Development Committee.

Born in India, she left to pursue graduate degrees at Tufts University, Boston followed by the LSE, London. Rita has lived and worked in Calcutta, Dacca, Boston, London and San Francisco.  She has served on the Board of and advised arts organizations in New Delhi, San Francisco and New York. Rita’s particular interest lies in the relationship of arts and the community and the development of both the neighborhood and the youth audience. Her current interest, through significant post-university course work is focused on interpreting 20^thcentury European history through arts and cultural movements.
