Richard has a BSC (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and is a Former Physics and Electronics Teacher (PGCE), a Figure skating professional (Disney on Ice and Ice Theatre of New York), and Exercise to Music Instructor (Central YMCA). Richard is a Lighting Designer with 40 years’ experience, having spent 7.5 years touring with Disney on Ice. For ETC Richard spent 2 years as their Tech Support Engineer in New York then 8 years as their Technical Services Manager in London.

Richard started MA Lighting UK operations and spent 4 years as Technical Director of MA Lighting UK.

Richard  has been on the Board of Above the Stag Theatre and Landor Theatre and has committee experience with PLASA Lighting Advisory Group, ALD Executive Committee, EQUITY Director and Designers Committee. Richard is currently a NISA National Skating Judge for Singles, Dance and Synchro plus ISU International qualifications in Data Input and Video Replay.
