Nafeesah Butt
Nafeesah studied Stage Management at Rose Bruford College. She worked for ten years as a Stage and Company Manager, in both the subsidised and commercial sector. Nafeesah has a particular passion for new writing and the unheard voice, the majority of her time in stage management was spent supporting the creation of new work.
Nafeesah went on to work at the National Theatre where she was part of the team who reopened the Dorfman Theatre and Clore Learning Centre following major redevelopment works. She then spent three years working as the General Manager of Kiln Theatre’s multi-million pound capital project, culminating in 2018.
Most recently, Nafeesah has been working with organisations who are undertaking organisational change, development and/or capital projects. Fundamentally Nafeesah’s focus is on creating space and spaces where people are best able to share stories – often this means taking the time to deconstruct existing environments and systems that are not fit for purpose and explore new methods of working.
Nafeesah is also a trustee at Company Three and on the advisory committee for Mulberry UTC’s Performing Arts Group.
