Ali is a founder of Barrel Organ theatre company – a new company who's first production Nothing played to great acclaim at Summerhall at the Edinburgh Festival 2014, and is now playing at the All Change Festival at the Lyric Hammersmith, the Emerge Festival at Warwick Arts Centre, and at Camden People's Theatre.Ali’s credits as a director include: Nothing (which won four awards at the National Student Drama Festival 2014) (Barrel Organ); Road (which also won four awards at the National Student Drama Festival 2014), Tender Naplam, Blackbird, Death and the Maiden (all Warwick University Drama Society); Fat Man (Theatre Uncut 2011); and Arcadia, Macbeth After the Rain (all Bedlam Theatre Company). Ali has also worked with FellSwoop Theatre on To Know How You Stand, and worked on a collaborative exploration of Harold Pinter’s The Lover, as part of ‘The Ensemble Project’ with IATL; and is a member of the IATL/ Fail Better Student Ensemble.At the National Student Drama Festival in 2014, Ali won the Buzz Goodbody Student Director’s Award. In October 2014 Ali is assisting on Forced Entertainment’s production That Night Follows Day.
