Lucy joined the Gate in September 2022 as our Interim Executive Director and CEO.

She is an experienced leader across the culture, charity and women’s sectors where she’s worked for over three decades. Lucy works collaboratively with leaders and teams to deliver organisational change, business planning, financial sustainability and strategic fundraising. She especially enjoys supporting teams through challenging times and in dealing with complex situations.

Recent work over the past three years includes: Interim Executive Director at Park Theatre, Interim CEO at Streetwise Opera, Project Director Future Plan/Interim Deputy Director at Dulwich Picture Gallery and a range of freelance contracts on Arts Council NPO funding, EDI strategy and executive support. She is currently also a Steering Committee Member of Museum Space Invaders, feminists creating change in museums and heritage.

From 2013 to 2020 Lucy was an Almeida Theatre Trustee. From 1997 to 2018, she was Chief Executive of Clean Break, the Camden-based award-winning theatre company, producing work on stage, in prisons and the community with women in the criminal justice system. She’s pleased to be back in Camden, making theatre again.
