Fisola Kelly-Akinnuoye – Administrative Assistant

Fisola Kelly-Akinnuoye (she/her) is a freelance writer- producer and literary magazine editor. She graduated with a degree in English from the University of Birmingham.

She has a background in theatre, working with The Old Vic, The Almeida, and China Plate Theatre on training courses. She worked as an intern assistant producer on China Plate Theatre’s production of Wuthering Heights and event coordinator for creative careers event – RISE 2023. She has produced the musical ‘The White Rose’ at Applecart Arts’ Springboard festival.

Her practice takes a care-centred approach to create space for emerging creatives to explore storytelling and creative possibilities in a safe, respectful working environment.

She has written a one act play, ‘Conversations with Myself,’ for the Almeida’s Anthem writers’ programme. Her writing explores existence in a Black, female body and celebrates personal and collective identities. She is driven to contribute to the dialogue on Black experiences. Currently, she is writing her second play.

She is passionate about creative education and platforming Black writers through her literary magazine, Wordstew. Her aim is to co-create communities that nurture sustainable productions of creativity in all formats.
