His office: relocated to Mars. His job: lost. Ethan Lipton has no place to go. PArt love letter to his co-workers, part query to the universe, part protest to company and country, Ethan Lipton and his Orchestra's NO PLACE TO GO (New York Times Critics' Pick) is an Obie Award winning piece of cabaret theatre that takes a hilarious, heartbreaking look at life after the Crash.
Originally produced by The Public Theater in New York, No Place to Go has toured America and now comes to the Gate for its first major UK run, fresh off a debut at the ATP Festival in East Susex, where it wowed a crowd of indie rock fans. Together since 2005, the band (which includes Eben Levy on guitar, Ian Riggs on bass, Vito Dieterie on sax and Lipton on vocals) has released five albums and been described as New York's "Best Lounge Act" by New York Magazine. So grab a beer and join them for the best, and most unexpected show in town.
