In response to our play, Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992, we're delighted to welcome David Lammy to the Gate where we will discuss the politics of rioting and the criminal justice system. We'll also look at how London has changed since 2011 and how politicians can empower communities to have a voice.
David has been the Labour Member of Parliament for Tottenham since 2000. In 2016, he was asked by David Cameron to lead an independent review of the treatment of, and outcomes for BAME individuals in our criminal justice system.
David is also the author of Out of the Ashes: Britain After the Riots, an analysis of the long-standing causes of the 2011 riots.
This is a free event for anyone to attend and will take place after the 22 January performance of Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992.
