The Gate's Artistic Director Christopher Haydon leads a workshop about being a director, directing itself, working with text and much more.
This workshop will be interactive and practical, with a chance for a Q&A. The workshop might be of particular interest to theatre directors at the beginning of their careers, but all artists and audience members are welcome, regardless of experience level.
Christopher is Artistic Director at the Gate Theatre and formerly an Associate Director at the Bush Theatre. Credits include: Grounded, Trojan Women, Purple Heart, The Prophet, Wittenburg (Gate), Twelve Angry Men (Birmingham Rep/West End), Sixty-Six Books, In the Beginning (Bush Theatre/Westminster Abbey); A Safe Harbour for Elizabeth Bishop (Southbank Centre); Grace, Pressure Drop (On Theatre); Deep Cut (Sherman Cymru/National Tour); Monsters, Notes from Underground (Arcola); A Number (Salisbury Playhouse).
For our Icons and Idols season. Christopher directed Image of an Unknown Young Woman by Elinor Cook and Lucas Hnath's The Christians.
