Directing Masterclass with Christopher Haydon

What is it?
Christopher Haydon, Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre, and director of Grounded will give a practical workshop on directing. Christopher will take participants through pre-rehearsal preparation, rehearsals into productions. Participants will gain an insight into how his award winning production Grounded was planned for and rehearsed.
 
Who is this for?
As with all Gate Masterclasses, this is an opportunity to get a practical insight into the decisions we make and the challenges we encounter in creating work for the Gate stage. The workshop is specifically aimed at emerging directors keen to develop their approach to text analysis, but is open to anyone curious to find out more about how a script goes from page to stage in the hands of a director.

Christopher Haydon – Artistic Director and Chief Executive

Christopher is the Artistic Director at the Gate Theatre and formerly an Associate Director at the Bush Theatre.  
 
Credits at the Gate include:  Diary of a Madman (also Traverse Theatre), The Iphigenia Quartet, The Christians (also Traverse Theatre, winner: Fringe First), Grounded (also Traverse Theatre, Studio Theatre Washington DC, national and international tour; winner: Fringe First, Best Production - Off West End Awards) Image of an Unknown Young Woman (winner: Best Production, Off West End Awards), The Edge of Our Bodies, Trojan Women, Purple Heart, The Prophet, Wittenburg.
