The Gate Theatre invites you to our Pub Quiz Fundraiser on Wednesday 12th October at 7:30pm. It's an informal and fun-fuelled evening for Gate supporters to test their theatre and general knowledge. 

Tickets: £75*
Location: Polpo, Notting Hill Gate

Teams of 8 - either buy a team or let us put you on a mixed team. 

Need some help with your general knowledge? Buy a place for an Industry Insider in your team and they can help you cheat!

Ticket price includes prosecco on arrival and cicchetti throughout the evening.

Ellen McDougall is Artistic Director at the Gate Theatre.  Previous credits at the Gate include - Effigies of Wickedness (2018), The Tale of the Unknown Island (2017) and Idomeneus (2014). Other credits include a critically acclaimed production of Othello at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at the Globe, the Lyric’s annual pantomime – Aladdin by Joel Horwood (2016) and Cinderella by Tom Wells (2015), The Rolling Stone (Orange Tree Theatre and Manchester Royal Exchange), The Remains of Maisie Duggan (Abbey Theatre, Dublin), The Glass Menagerie(Headlong), Anna Karenina (Manchester Royal Exchange),  Henry the Fifth, Not Now Bernard, The Nutcracker, Antigone and Philoctetes(Unicorn Theatre); Glitterland (Secret Theatre/Lyric Hammersmith) and Ivan and the Dogs (Actors Touring Company/Soho Theatre).

McDougall was formerly part of the Secret Theatre Company at the Lyric Hammersmith, Associate Director at the Gate, and an Associate Artist at ATC. She trained as an assistant to Katie Mitchell and Marianne Elliott and was Director in Residence at the NT Studio. She was awarded an International Artists' Development Award (ACE/British Council) in 2012; she was the runner up in the JMK Award 2008 and directed A Kind of Alaska at BAC. Her production of Ivan and the Dogs (Actors Touring Company/Soho Theatre) was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2011.

Christopher is the Artistic Director at the Gate Theatre and formerly an Associate Director at the Bush Theatre.  
 
Credits at the Gate include:  Diary of a Madman (also Traverse Theatre), The Iphigenia Quartet, The Christians (also Traverse Theatre, winner: Fringe First), Grounded (also Traverse Theatre, Studio Theatre Washington DC, national and international tour; winner: Fringe First, Best Production - Off West End Awards) Image of an Unknown Young Woman (winner: Best Production, Off West End Awards), The Edge of Our Bodies, Trojan Women, Purple Heart, The Prophet, Wittenburg.

Other theatre credits include: Twelve Angry Men (Birmingham Rep/West End), Sixty-Six Books, In the Beginning (Bush Theatre/Westminster Abbey); A Safe Harbour for Elizabeth Bishop (Southbank Centre); Grace, Pressure Drop (On Theatre); Deep Cut (Sherman Cymru/National Tour); Monsters, Notes from Underground (Arcola); A Number (Salisbury Playhouse). Short Films include: The Taming of the Shrew/Two Gentleman of Verona (Globe Theatre) Devil in the Detail (Royal Court/Guardian).

As a journalist he has written for: The Scotsman, The Financial Times, The Independent, The Guardian, The New Statesman and Prospect Magazine. He is the co-editor of three books: Conversations on Religion, Conversations on Truth (Continuum) and Identity and Identification (Black Dog).
