The Designer's Process in the Gate FoyerIf you've been to the Gate recently, you'll have seen that our foyer boasts some exciting images! We've been showcasing some of the themes and concepts that have inspired the set and costumes for our recent shows, Eclipsed and Image of an Unknown Young Woman.
Chiara Stevenson, the designer on Eclipsed, decked our foyer in her sketches and images that inspired her to create the world of the play.
Fly Davis chose a more conceptual route, lining up her inspirations in a strip that echoed the shape of her final design of Image of an Unknown Young Woman.
Most of the designers at the Gate are supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Their support allows our designers to Think Big and realise their ideas in a bold way.
In the coming months, we'll be showcasing more work from our designers past and present. Why not stop by and take a look!
