Image of an Unknown Young Woman Rehearsals: Week 3Image explores revolution from many different angles, and this week, during rehearsal we spent some time watching some videos and images of real life revolutions or riot situations. From Baltimore to Egypt, It was incredibly useful to see something from the real world to base some of these character situations on. It was also extremely harrowing to see the levels for some of the violence.
I attach some of these videos to this blog, but would like to warn that some contain some distressing images – especially the last video entitled ‘Her name was Neda’ which shows the shooting of a young girl who was protesting during the 2009 Iranian election protests.
Additionally, our actors also had fittings for their costumes, and it was so exciting to see some of these things we have only talked about physically start to take place.
We also had a few hours with a fight director, making sure we got some of the physically challenging to the level they needed to be. This is the first time I have seen a fight director work in this way, and it is safe to say that they are pretty amazing. Everyday I find myself in awe of Image's amazing company, what a talented group of individuals to be working with!
We are about to go into our last week of rehearsals, with tech the week after. I am getting increasingly excited to see how an audience responds to this great show…
